SCP SCIENCE Announces New Building Expansion
(October 26, 2011) Work started today to construct a 34,500 sq ft extension to SCP SCIENCE’s 40,000 sq ft existing building located in the Baie D’Urfé
suburb of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Completion and move in is scheduled for the end of February, 2012.
The new, temperature controlled building is directly connected to the current facility and was designed to include existing production and an expanded
number of new manufacturing units. Special services will be installed to support injection moulding, machining, plastic extrusion, glassblowing, chemistry
labs, and a coating department as the company ramps up its manufacturing. New production machinery is being added to increase capacity for current products
and to produce an extensive list of new items to be introduced in 2012 under the various SCP SCIENCE brands.
Laboratory space for Inorganic and Conostan chemistry departments is being substantially increased and the Quality Control department will see additional work stations and better equipped testing facilities. By spring 2012, manufacturing will include 11 different production units when the building and the production machinery are fully implemented.
The total investment will exceed 5 million dollars including over 2 million dollars in new, automated production equipment.
