SPECTRO
Founded in 1979, SPECTRO is the clear market leader for metal analyzers. Its growth in the sales of ICP and XRF spectrometers has also continued to exceed industry averages.
Since SPECTRO’s inception, over 25,000 instruments have been delivered globally. These include handheld spectrometers for applications such as metal recycling, and fully automatic sample-preparation and analysis systems for a variety of industries covering difficult applications.
SPECTRO is proud to be a provider of quality products that both improve safety and offer superior analytical analysis.

| iSORT |
The iSORT is a battery-powered, hand-held spectrometer for on-site identification and analysis of all common metal alloys. It uses arc excitation and requires neither argon nor a radioactive source.
Several hundred measurements can be conducted using the instrument’s integrated rechargeable battery. The iSORT can be used for material testing in production; component identification in chemical and petrochemical plants; material-failure analysis; weld-seam analysis; and the rapid determination of metal alloys when buying, selling or blending scrap metal.
The iSORT performs a “fingerprinting” procedure to independently recognize the sample material. The instrument then automatically determines the optimal instrument settings for analyzing the material, without the need for manual intervention. |
| The instrument’s ICAL software logic saves time by controlling instrument status independently from external influences and eliminating the need for lengthy recalibrations for changes in location and temperature. |

| SpectroTEST |
The superior efficiency and flexibility of the SPECTROTEST are due to its readout system, special optic system, and ICAL logic system, which simultaneously minimize operating expenses and make operation of the instrument incomparably simple and safe.
With its innovative technology, the SPECTROTEST is well-suited to every metal testing job. The electrically independent battery operation mode is ideal for hard-to-reach spots, for the analysis of small pieces and curved surfaces, for use on an open platform in a steel mill, for end control of manufactured goods, or for identification and analysis of differing types of metals and alloys in a scrap yard.

| SPECTROMAXx |
The SPECTROMAXx can be configured as a bench-top or floor model. With three versions to choose from, the SPECTROMAXx is sure to meet your individual requirements.
The SPECTROMAXx provides analytical capabilities previously achieved only with conventional photomultiplier systems, thanks to a variety of innovative features, including: the new SPECTRO Plasma Generator sample-excitation system, CCDs selected especially for emission spectrometry, a high-performance read-out system, innovative optical systems, and the unique ICAL logic system. Additionally, the SPECTROMAXx is equipped with a novel spark stand, distinguished by minimal maintenance requirements and argon consumption that has been reduced by nearly half. |
All of the chemical elements requiring analysis by the metal industry can be determined, including traces of carbon, phosphorus, sulphur, and nitrogen. Completely defined calibration modules are available for the relevant matrices (base metals), such as Fe, Al, Cu, Ni, Co, Ti, Mg, Zn, Sn and Pb. They include the complete element range and can be adapted individually.
The SPECTROMAXx is well-suited for applications like die-cast or injection moulding, as well as for standard requirements in steel or non-ferrous foundries, multi-matrix applications for incoming and outgoing inspection, and all applications in the automotive industry. |

| SPECTROLAB |
The SPECTROLAB is part of a new class of metal analyzers distinguished by improved analytical performance, greater investigative flexibility, and simpler operation. Depending on the individual requirements, the analytical scope can be custom-designed based on the ten standard matrices (Fe, Al, Cu, Ni, Co, Mg, Ti, Sn, Pb and Zn) or, alternatively, on the five precious metal matrices (Au, Ag, Pt, Pd and Ru).
The unique SPECTROLAB optical system uses the specific advantages of both of the previously used detector systems: photomultiplier tubes and CCDs. It contains two separate spectral modules in one housing, where signals are processed simultaneously by a completely redesigned high-performance readout system.
Equipped with these and other modern, high-quality components, the SPECTROLAB is designed for sophisticated analytical requirements in the metal-producing, -processing and recycling industries. |

| GENESIS |
The SPECTRO GENESIS is the first and only ICP-OES spectrometer that comes with a complete set of factory-calibrated methods for environmental and industrial applications — users can truly “plug and analyze” without needing to first develop a method. The methods are delivered ready for use straight out of the box with an application package that includes the sample-introduction system, sample-preparation instructions, and method documentation.
The SPECTRO GENESIS is available with two different plasma interfaces. Depending on the application, the instrument is equipped with either radial (SOP) or axial (EOP) plasma observation.
The SPECTRO GENESIS offers a real economic alternative to sequential ICP and AA spectrometers, enabling those who are unfamiliar with ICP to profit from the advantages of leading CCD ICP technology and to use a powerful, low-cost and user-friendly analytical system. |

| ARCOS |

Its appearance alone is a clear indication — the SPECTRO ARCOS is different from conventional ICP spectrometers. The prominent left side of the instrument houses its unique patented optical system: a major innovation with unbeatable resolution, accuracy and stability.
The ARCOS can be outfitted with an interface for either axial or radial plasma observation. The new CCD optic system with a Paschen-Runge mount assembly delivers a matchless 8.5-picometre resolution in the wavelength range of 130–340 nm.
The instrument’s additional strengths include: a new, extremely robust, free-running generator with a ceramic tube and solid-state power supply; its low-maintenance and economical UV-Plus system for high VUV transparency down to 130 nm; a fast readout system with a dynamic range of eight decades; and a transient measuring frequency of up to 10 Hz. |
The patented ICAL system logic automatically monitors the ARCOS’s operation, guaranteeing continuous optimum operating conditions.
The instrument’s “Smart Analyzer Vision” graphical user interface is characterized by a high degree of flexibility, clear structure, and simple operation. Whether defining norm-conforming measurement procedures, quantitatively reprocessing stored spectra, or creating measurement methods, operators appreciate its straightforward and accessible functions. |
