R&D Electromechanical Technician

SCP SCIENCE is currently seeking a R&D Electromechanical Technician who is interested in a long-term career within a professional working environment.

Reports to:                           R&D Manager

Place of work:                      Baie D'Urfe (Montreal), Quebec

Schedule:                              8:30am-4:30pm 

 Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and test mechanical parts of new or existing instruments
  • Assemble and test electric and electronic parts of new or existing instruments
  • Test, troubleshoot, identify possible problems, and improve the existing systems to ensure that all the systems under care run smoothly and operate at peak efficiency
  • Search for new suppliers and components
  • Feedback to improve instrument documents (assembling and servicing instructions)
  • Transition instruments between R & D and production
  • Develop and improve in-process and final stage QC test procedures
  • Support field service troubleshooting.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • College diploma in electrical, mechanical, applied science, or systems engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in electromechanical systems
  • Basic knowledge of electronics and electrical systems, as well as technology in general
  • Efficient with Microsoft Windows and Excel
  • Asset: experience with system automation
  • Asset: experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks
  • Asset: able to manually solder and fabricate electronic board
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment..
